Take a walk in the park for Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s Queensland Unity Walk– Sunday, September 9, 2012 at New Farm Park, Brisbane
Team VIVA! is partnering with Parkinson’s Queensland to heighten awareness of the country’s second most common degenerative neurological disorder affecting 17,000 Queenslanders.
We’re inviting Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba residents to head down to New Farm Park, Brisbane on Sunday, September 9 to join Parkinson’s Queensland for their fourth annual Unity Walk to wrap up Parkinson’s Awareness Week (2 – 9 September).
The Unity Walk – a leisurely four kilometre stroll from New Farm Park along the Brisbane River to Teneriffe and back – is designed to raise community awareness and much-need funds for Parkinson’s disease.
The event will be jam-packed with live entertainment, a sausage sizzle, face painting and balloon art for the kids.
All funds raised will be invested into research and support services for those living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers.
Registration opens at 8.30am. The event starts at 10am.
To register, or make a donation, visit www.parkinsons-qld.org.au or call 1800 644 189.
Children can participate in the Unity Walk for as little as $15; adults for $25; a family of three for $50; a family of four for $75 and a team of 10 people for $225.

Great Day for a good cause! Seemed to be a lot of people walking for Parkinsons so I hope the day was a success all round.
