World Immunology Day kicks off on Wednesday, April 29 this year and has some great events running in Melbourne.

World Immunology Day was established in 2005 by the European Federation of Immunological Societies. (EFIS) The day has seen great success, which has led to its global celebration since 2007.

The day is set to kick-off with a ‘Vaccination Cafe,’ running from 11:00am to 2:30pm at Melbourne’s Marquee City Square. It’s your chance to grab a coffee with research scientists and learn all about the science of vaccination, while having a 2015 influenza vaccination for $12. Be sure to pre-book your vaccination here.

The fun doesn’t stop here! The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity are running ‘Free Public Discovery Tours’ through Melbourne’s finest research laboratories. To meet leading scientists and learn all about their research discoveries, register here.

You can end your day by attending a free public ‘Immunology Myth Busters,’ lecture at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity from 6:00-8:30pm. Registration is essential, so please ensure you register here.
