Working in the field of PR and communications allows you to bond closely with like-minded colleagues and other professionals.

Although we don’t always get to meet face-to-face, we tend to build strong relationships by liaising with, reading and appreciating various communication campaigns that often deliver wonderful, quirky and far-reaching results.

To lose a member of our professional community hits home very hard. In recent weeks, we lost a professional colleague – Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) communications professional Roozi Araghi, 38, Canberra. Prior to working for the ABS, Roozi held a number of Executive level positions, including a role in the Federal Department of Health.

A recent statement released by the ABS recognised Araghi’s passion for working in the communications field.

“The ABS is devastated by the tragic loss of Roozi Araghi, one of our dedicated, professional hardworking team members, who was very popular and well-regarded.

“Roozi worked in our Communications team, and was helping with the organisation-wide transformation of our statistical processes. He had the rare ability to communicate complex and technical matters in a clear and easy to understand manner, while also bringing a lot of joy and fun to the workplace.

“His loss is deeply felt, and our thoughts and wishes are with his family and friends.”

VIVA! Communications extends our sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Roozi Araghi. RIP.
