VIVA! Communications wishes to congratulate Will Delaat, current director of the Fragile X Association of Australia (FXAA), Pharmaxis and EnGenelC, who was named today in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Mr Delaat was honoured for ‘his service to the pharmaceutical industry through roles with professional organisations, to the development of medicines policy and reform, and to the community.’

The Former Medicines Australia (MA) Chairman has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry in Europe and Australia, having previously worked with a range of highly respected multi-national pharmaceutical manufacturers, including AstraZeneca and Merck Sharp & Dohme.

Mr Delaat stepped down as Chairman of MA after 15 years of service on its board.

In one of his current roles as Director of the Fragile X Association of Australia (FXAA), an Australian non-profit organisation to which VIVA! Communications offers strategic PR counsel and support, Mr Delaat is working to heighten public awareness and understanding of Fragile X – a gene mutation of the X chromosome which can cause an array of mild-to-severe physical and intellectual disabilities and behaviours.
